Fragile Union

This series is an audio only spin-off of the The Kershner Files and deals exclusively with the ways, means, and aftermath of a grid down scenario. Video files are available for viewing on both CRN and Rumble but the entire video is an image of the Fragile Union podcast logo. Here’s a breakdown of what you can expect:

  • Ep1 - A synopsis of what a year without power would look like.

  • Ep2-11 - A breakdown of all of the various ways the grid could come down.

  • Ep12-26 - A review of all of the planning for various tasks and scenarios once the grid is down from Day 1 through the end of the 2nd year or later.

December 19, 2025 - Ep2: Grid and Infrastructure Failure

In Ep2, we’re starting with the backbone of modern civilization: the electrical grid.

It’s the system that powers everything — water, fuel, food distribution, hospitals, communications, transportation, and the economy itself. And it’s also one of the most fragile, aging, and over‑stressed systems in the United States. This episode is about how the grid can fail, why it’s more vulnerable than most people realize, and what life looks like when the lights go out and don’t come back on.

December 22, 2025 - Ep3: Economic and Financial Breakdown

In Ep3, we shift to another pillar of modern civilization: the economy.

Most Americans think of the economy as something abstract — stock tickers, interest rates, inflation numbers. But the truth is simple: The economy is the system that moves food, fuel, medicine, and money. When it breaks, everything breaks. This episode is about how economic collapse happens, what it looks like on the ground, and how ordinary Americans can prepare for the shockwaves that follow.

December 31, 2025 - Ep4: Political Fragmentation and Social Unrest

In Ep4, we take some time and work our way through a grid failure as a result of our heavily divided national politics and the powder keg we’re all sitting on waiting for the next wave of civil unrest.

We’ve all seen this scenario play out. Some of you may have even survived it. The Summer of Love on 2020 and the assortment of ICE protests in 2025 as the most recent examples… and it’s always the same. But what happens if the unrest and political discord doesn’t die down?

January 10, 2026 - Ep5: Cyber and Information Warfare

Today’s episode explores one of the most invisible yet devastating threats to modern society: cyber and information warfare. Unlike natural disasters or economic crashes, cyberattacks don’t require armies, missiles, or even physical presence. Nope. All that is required for cyber warfare is three tangible things: access, opportunity, and intent.

And as for information warfare — that’s a battle for perception, belief, and narrative — those three are just as dangerous. Because when you control information, you control behavior. We saw it on 9/11 and the days/weeks/months/years after. We saw it during hurricanes Katrina and Helene. During the housing crisis, both of President Trumps terms as well as the four years he wasn’t in office. We saw it daily during the covid years and with the potato’s reign of terror.
